I went to Shinagawa today, on the Konan-side and realize quite a few restaurants and cafes are at station building called “Atre”. They were having New York x Shinagawa week, which was also new for me. When I went in there, as I saw quite a few foreigner, it gave me a feeling that I was not in Tokyo, but somewhat more foreign location. Atre in Shinagawa, somehow, make me feel like I was back in Australia for a while.

That was until I saw this shoe-polish place where you sit on the throne like chair. I understand that Japanese workers were under a lot of stress. This probably was one of the new way they found to relieve that tension.
Bare in mind, this picture was taken early in the morning, around 10:00 AM. Shoes are needed to be polished…yes, but really? Well, I did not have a chance to try, but definitely will do so next time when I visit Shinagawa.
I hope this becomes a small trend that at every station of Tokyo JR yamanote, there will be throne like chair.

I also saw this nice condominium at Shinagawa, close by to Tennozu Isle, head quarter of Citi group in Japan. It had 24 hour super market, fitness gym, swimming pool, small play ground for children, and shuttle bus from property to Shinagawa station (all separate fee, but great facility nevertheless). Within the premises they had clinics, dental office, masseur, concierge service, dry cleaning and also a great ocean view from the room!
We only have one furnished room available now, but if you are looking for 2 bed room furnished apartment in Tokyo, this is definitely one of the choice I will not miss out on.
The great thing is, the owner is a foreign person too, so I believe there will be more understanding
than feeling the difference and wall of Japanese culture.
If you want more information on this furnished apartment, feel free to let us know.
